Programme Introduction

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is revolutionizing the way enterprises plan their logistics and supply chain operations. With large enterprises making a concerted effort to integrate it with their operations, it has become imperative to examine how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can leverage RFID to attain efficiency, increased productivity and boost cost savings.

Use of RFID technology is set to become more common. The market for RFID is fast picking up across the world. Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) has developed a RFID Development Plan that aims to develop Singapore into Asia 's RFID hub. In May 2004, IDA has announced that it would invest $10 million in a three-year plan to promote the adoption and development of RFID technology.

In this forum, we will be covering:

  • The usefulness of RFID
  • How RFID can help to attain efficiency, increase productivity and boost cost saving
  • How to avoid the pitfall of implementing RFID
  • How to achieve ROI for your RFID investment
  • Case studies of RFID implementation
  • What is Infocomm@SME all about.
  • The various strategies and initiatives that has been put in place to assist SMEs in adopting infocomm
