Programme Introduction
The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry is one of the fastest growing segments within the tourism industry. Europe and United States still dominate in the MICE business, with Vienna ranking first followed by Singapore and Barcelona in the second and third place respectively.
The new emerging markets in Asia are predominately South East Asia countries such as Macau, China , Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and etc. In Middle East the emerging market is the United Arab Emirates zone with Dubai taking the lead and on the other hand Abu Dhabi is hosting the Gulf BTMICE. South Africa is also a promising market with Cape Town to be the key of the South Africa's MICE future.
Singapore attempts to leverage on the growing popularity of the Southeast Asian countries and further strengthen its position and emerge as a top MICE destination. The Singapore government is pumping in S$170 million to boost the BTMICE industry. The Integrated Resorts (IR) is one such investment that aims to increase visitor arrivals and tourism receipts.
This seminar will provide a deeper understanding of the emerging global MICE markets, business environment, opportunities and risks. Participants will gain knowledge of the diverse sources of information available, which can then help guide them in making business decisions. It will also show SMEs how they can benefit by participating in this industry and what they can do to access this market.
